Your Library Essentials

Welcome to The University of Sheffield Library!

We are here to help you with accessing your module reading, to offer guidance on research and referencing, and to answer any questions you may have along your University journey. This guide tells you everything you need to know about using the library and our services, and also has links and information on how you can get in touch with your library team either in person or online.

Welcome and Induction for all new and returning students

Your library welcome: drop in and discover your library 

These drop-in events are a great opportunity for you to:

• Meet the library team and find out about how we can support you
• Take a tour of the Digital Commons
• Learn about Research Skills and Critical Thinking workshops
• Pick up a library tote bag and other freebies!

The events will run at the following times at the Information Commons (IC):

• Tuesday 23 September: 12pm to 1pm
• Thursday 25 September: 1pm to 2pm
• Tuesday 7 October: 1pm to 2pm

The events will run at the following times at the Western Bank Library:

• Tuesday 23 September: 1pm to 2pm
• Thursday 25 September: 12pm to 1pm
• Thursday 9 October: 12pm to 1pm
