When evaluating a GenAI tool, try and find out how it works and what it has been developed to do:
- What is the tool for? Is it the most appropriate thing to use for what you want to achieve?
- Does the tool provide clear information about what it’s doing, and how to use or interpret the things it produces?
- Is it transparent about what data it’s using and how that data is processed?
- If not, could the developers have an interest in making you think their product is smarter than it really is?
